Dan Hillier is well known for his black line engraving and steam-punk style in his art work. He likes to include elements of the Victorian era and animals in his work. He likes to take people from the 1800s in realistic poses and alter them by adding animal elements or vice versa as shown in "Egg". What draws me to his art is the antique textbook-diagram  feel to it since Ive always been drawn to old fashioned styled things. I feel like he is trying to reveal a world that doesn't exist yet.  . I also am really drawn to his use of birds and diamonds since these are two items that I have always kind of been obsessed with.
